Against The Storm

When hurricane Odile hit the coast of Baja California many luxury homes and condos as well as thousands of Mexican families and businesses were effected. Everything that wasn’t nailed down was swept away. What was left was made of concrete and as rebuilding began concrete was the building material of choice. Now two years later the building continues and so does the use of concrete.

Don’t forget to adjust your clocks!

clocksforwardDaylight Savings Time is coming up this weekend so get ready to spring forward!

Daylight Savings Time is a way of making better use of the daylight in the evenings by setting the clocks forward one hour during the longer days of summer.

At 2 a.m. on Sunday March 13 our clocks are readjusted forward by an hour.

This adjustment will take place automatically on smartphones, computers and tablets, but for those still living with non-automated devices on your wrists or shelves you will have to manually upgrade the time to stay current.

Sorry to say we’ll lose an hour of sleep because of the change, but it also means we’re one hour closer to spring…ahhhhh

Beautiful Kitchen Floor Reno

This kitchen received a quick flooring makeover on a budget. With the primers available today, we were able to do a self levelling concrete topping right over the old kitchen tiles. Once that set, we installed an elite crete reflector floor. The metallic finish really modernizes the space.

Industrial Floor Finish

The process begins with surface prep. It’s always the key to a successful floor installation. This old floor has been used for many different businesses over the years. We started with a deep grind using a 32” machine that weighs more than 1500lbs. The combination of weight and the correct diamond tooling insures a nice deep grind to fully remove all surface contaminants.
We also ran a shotblaster over the rougher areas to insure a clean floor down in any divots and depressions.

Once a good clean floor is achieved, we skim the floor out with a floor patching material to fill and smooth the depressions and other deficiencies prior to coating. Once that has dried, a light grind over the patch and we are ready to begin the coating process.

Our base coat of epoxy goes down nice and even with a squeegee and back roll before we broadcast the flake. This client chose a grey and white mix with 7% silver micah for a unique look that will have a gorgeous finish.

Once the base coat has cured, we remove the excess flake, scrape it down and sand it before the applying the two topcoats of polyaspartic.

The final product is a gorgeous showroom finish that is extremely chemical and abrasion resistant. This floor will be home to an extensive car collection.
