Specialty Concrete Engraving

This gorgeous floor was created by engraving the pattern with our Mongoose concrete engraver. Next, we stained the concrete with Elite Crete’s Antique Brown Chem stone stain. The lines were highlighted with Antique black by one of our master installers with a steady hand to create the soft rustic edges to the pattern. The floor is coated with Elite Crete PT-1 Epoxy for beauty and durability.

This is a great way to change the look of your floors. In fact, unlimited decorative designs and patterns can be directly engraved into a concrete floor surface. The Late Season Concrete Project

That is if the general air temperature is between 10° C and 32° C you should be safe. There are other factors that might determine the outcome like wind and humidity along with water temp have an effect on pouring concrete in less than favorable conditions.

Cold Weather

Temperatures below 0° C should be left until warmer weather or best recommendation would be to hire a pro. Concrete sets slower in colder temperatures so the key to getting it right is to make sure the concrete sets fast.

Here is a cold weather tip to get your concrete set right, use hot water. You could always use a fast setting concrete to pour you your slab but if you really want it done right call someone who does it for a living.

The Concrete Sponge

If you have ever watched water seep into your drive or walkway you know that concrete is pretty much a sponge. It will absorb anything from below and from above.

What causes concrete to crack and fail is the moisture expanding and contracting from the extremes of hot and cold weather.

Indoors concrete should be sealed as dust never stops coming out of exposed concrete.

This concrete should be sealed. If you’re going to seal your concrete you can use something as simple as a sealer or you can use an epoxy coating with decorative features.

Polyasparic coatings are becoming one of the most popular finishes for conctete. They are a non-fading substance that can incorporate multiple colours, coloured chips or quartz added to the polyasparic to create beautiful and multi coloured concrete floors in homes, offices and commercial buildings.
