A big thank you to our valued clients!

Hardscapes Inc. has been installing architectural concrete finishes since 1996 and we have just closed off our 20th year of providing quality concrete coatings and seamless flooring solutions in Calgary.

We specialize in decorative concrete overlays, engraved and stained concrete floors, garage floor coatings, and industrial/commercial floor coatings. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail which is why we have maintained relationships with many of Calgary’s finest home builders, designers and general contractors.

Over the past 20 years, we have seen many changes in the industry and have worked hard to stay current with the latest in coating technology.

Concrete flooring has stood the test of time and is still increasing in popularity as more and more people seek a custom “one of a kind” floor.

We’d like to thank all of our valued clients for their continued support over the years and look forward to continued growth and new relationships.

Thank you Calgary!

Bulletproof for years to come!

Concrete has become a material that homeowners and designers are often requesting as functional and beautiful space options.

Here’s an overview of the basic methods used to restore our client’s garage floor:

“On this project, after grinding, chipping and preparing the concrete, this suspended garage floor was structurally restored using our unique structural repair material.

We coated the floor with an 80% solids polyaspartic with Hardscapes “gunflint” blend of flakes. Top-coated with two coats of a 90% solids polyaspartic coating, this floor will be bulletproof for years!

It can be a challenge in Calgary with frigid temperatures. Thanks to some premium products designed for our harsh climate., this job was a success despite -30 degree temperatures.”

Hardscapes Inc. knows about concrete and how to keep it from cracking and heaving while making it look beautiful at the same time.

Is radiant heated flooring for you?

Did you know that radiant heated concrete flooring is even an option?

You may not be building a new home, but if you are thinking of resurfacing your existing concrete basement floors, radiant heating may be an idea you want to explore.

Radiant heated concrete floors can provide both beauty and warmth under foot, resulting in a more comfortable living environment. In fact, concrete floor radiant heating consumes less energy to achieve the same level of comfort, ultimately lowering utility costs.

Radiant floor heating is available in most situations. For newer floors or complete renos, cable forms are installed in the concrete slab when it’s poured, but for but already existing concrete floors, mat form can be embedded with a quick and easy installation in thin-set cement.

All the nooks, crannies and cracks need to be filled and all the dust and small particulates left over from the top coat need to vacuumed and disposed of before the final coat is applied. The Concrete Sponge

If you have ever watched water seep into your drive or walkway you know that concrete is pretty much a sponge. It will absorb anything from below and from above.

What causes concrete to crack and fail is the moisture expanding and contracting from the extremes of hot and cold weather.

Indoors concrete should be sealed as dust never stops coming out of exposed concrete.

This concrete should be sealed. If you’re going to seal your concrete you can use something as simple as a sealer or you can use an epoxy coating with decorative features.

Polyasparic coatings are becoming one of the most popular finishes for conctete. They are a non-fading substance that can incorporate multiple colours, coloured chips or quartz added to the polyasparic to create beautiful and multi coloured concrete floors in homes, offices and commercial buildings.
