Flake broadcast flooring has a scattering of decorative flakes sandwiched between the base coat and the finishing coat. The flakes are either polymer (plastic) or reflective metallic, also known as chips, and come in a wide range of colours and sizes. The flake system has a granite or stone appearance.

Surface preparation is the key to all of our coating jobs. We take prep very seriously as it is the leading cause of failures in coatings. Some manufacturers offer a 20 year warranty on their products, however, if the floor hasn’t been prepped properly, those manufacturers will not replace the product and the client is left to battle with their installer.

Wine Store Floor Restoration

Another gorgeous reflector floor created using the Elite Crete colouring system. This particular project involved reviving an old wine store floor.

Our concrete flooring systems are poured in place and completely self-levelling. They must be properly prepared before an epoxy coating is applied to achieve the best results. After Hardscapes gave this old floor a diamond grind, some patching, and an Elite Crete pt1 epoxy application the old well-worn floor found new life again. 

These floors are abrasion-resistant, moisture-resistant, slip-resistant, and chemical-resistant. Truly unique seamless flooring solutions make a statement with colours that can be blended to complement any environment. Truly unique seamless flooring solutions make a statement with colours that can be blended to complement any decor.

Gorgeous reflector floors can be created using Elite Crete Systems epoxy and reflector enhancer colouring system. Treating concrete with a chemical densifier and then grinding it with progressively finer grinding tools can create beautiful basement and garage floors. Progressively finer grits of diamond polishing pads are used to achieve a slick polished surface. Often the surface is either stained or dyed, but branding and logos can also be added along with scoring, borders and other design features to make a concrete floor come to life.

Considering a non-skid finish for your garage floor?

Check out the images below of one of the garage flooring projects Hardscapes recently completed. We used a polyaspartic coating with metallic pigments to give a long lasting, incredibly durable and easy-to-clean flooring system.

Introduced in the 1990s polyaspartic became a new class of coating. Because polyaspartics can be formulated with slower reaction rates, they can be roller-applied or spray-applied with conventional paint sprayers without the use of solvent. Polyaspartic coatings are 100% UV resistant and will not age or yellow, have a non-skid texture which ensures safety and provides years of easy maintenance.

After grinding and patching, the floor received an overlay of Elite Crete’s thin Finish. Once dry, it was stained for a gorgeous titanium mottling. Top coated with Elite Crete E100 PT1 epoxy and a satin polyurethane, this floor will stand up to the daily abuse of kids, toys, pets etc.
